Chancellor Merkel speaks about investment with French PM Valls
FXStreet (Łódź) - French PM Manuel Valls visited Berlin on Monday to hold talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on ways of boosting growth in the Eurozone. During the press conference following their meeting the German leader praised the French reform plan which she hopes will effectively improve competitiveness.
Merkel assured that consolidation efforts and strategies for stimulating growth can successfully coexist. She stressed that Germany will cooperate with France in order to improve the confidence in the Euro.
Meanwhile, PM Valls said that the main topic of the meeting was investment and that the talks were "direct". He said that doubts about the French economy expressed in German media were not entirely unfounded and assured that the government in Paris had the parliament's full support.
