Key Quotes

“The stock market indices had a topsy-turvy session with a nice rally in the afternoon to come back and close mixed on the day, but way off the lows.”

“The day started out with a sharp dip lower, especially on the S&P 500, and then they popped into a consolidation pattern, which looked like bear wedges. They then came down to test yesterday's lows on the Nasdaq 100, but taking them out on the S&P 500. When the Nasdaq 100 did not confirm the S&P 500, they rallied in a strong 5-wave move into the last hour. In the last 30 minutes they backed off to close mixed on the session.”

“Net on the day, the Dow was down 128.34 at 17,849.08. The S&P 500 was down 6.91 at 2074.20, 9 points off the low. The Nasdaq 100 was up 5.16 at 4375.63, 26 points off the low.”
