Canada: Unemployment rate ticks up to 7.2% in July

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Canada´s Unemployment rate rose to 7.2% in July from 7.1% in June, Statistics Canada reported on Friday. Analysts expected it to remain at 7.1%.

The number of employed people fell by 39.4K in July, following a 0.4K decline in June and against forecasts of a 10K increase.

The Participation Rate was at 66.5% in July, down from 66.7% in June and against projections of remaining at the same level.
