Wall Street indexes post largest gain in 4 years
FXStreet (Córdoba) - US stocks closed the session lower but the week with gains, with main indexes posting its biggest monthly gain in 4 years.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 92 points or 0.52% to 17,663.54 but gained 0.1% over the week and 8.5% in October. The S&P 500 shed 10 points or 0.48% and closed at 2,079.36 but rose 0.2% over the week and 8.3% for the month. The Nasdaq Composite fell 20.53 points, or 0.4%, to 5,053.75. The index rose 0.4% on the week and posted a 9.4% monthly advance.
Among the DJIA stocks, Microsoft, Boeing, and DuPont are the major gainers. Meanwhile, the minus side is filled with names like Walt Disney, JPMorgan, American Express.
