Fed's Kaplan: Getting near the point where it makes sense to hike in either June or July

Robert Steven Kaplan, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, said Thursday that US economy is getting to the point where it makes sense to hike in either June or July.

He said US consumer is in relatively good shape and he sees US GDP growth of 2.0% this year and economy close to full employment.

He also referred to a possible Brexit. “We need to be prepared if UK votes to exit EU.” The UK referendum could impact June Fed decision, he said
