Fed’s Bostic sees one rate hike this year and another in 2020 - WSJ report
According to an article published in the Wall Street Journal, Atlanta Fed president, Raphael Bostic is still on board with more central bank interest-rate increases, including one hike this year and one more in 2020.
Key quotes:
• Central bank’s policy should let the US economy ‘stand on its own’.
• As long as the economy is running fine, I think there is still room to run.
• The aim is to get the Fed benchmark rate to the so-called neutral level.
• Slow approach to get to neutral is a good path for the Fed.
